Kannada Actor Darshan latest news

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, entangled in a high-profile legal case, recently gained temporary release on medical grounds in connection to the Renukaswamy murder investigation. Darshan, accused of orchestrating the attack leading to Renukaswamy's death, had been in judicial custody since June 2024. Recently, he reported severe back pain, which his legal team argued required specialized spinal surgery. After presenting medical evidence showing numbness and pain, the Karnataka High Court granted him six weeks of interim bail for the surgery at a private hospital, with conditions including surrendering his passport to prevent any risk of fleeing the jurisdiction.

The charges against Darshan relate to an alleged dispute over offensive messages sent to Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan’s and a co-accused in the case. Investigators allege that Darshan and others arranged a fatal assault on Renukaswamy, whose body was later discovered in Bengaluru with injuries indicating blunt-force trauma. Since his arrest, Darshan’s case has drawn attention due to incidents suggesting preferential treatment in custody, leading to his transfer from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Jail to Ballari Prison.

The case remains active, with Darshan expected to return to custody following his treatment, while the court continues to examine his role in the incident.
